Composite Nickel Fiber Felt – Mesh-Reinforced Sintered Felt

Porosity 50%~80%
Ni Purity >=99.5%
Structure Felt + mesh

Product Introduction

Composite nickel fiber felt co-sinters sintered nickel fiber felt with expanded nickel mesh into one body - felt porosity plus mesh strength and conductivity - for AEM/alkaline electrolyzer electrodes, gas diffusion layers and precision filtration. Structure and basis weight customizable.

Detailed Overview

01 Product Overview

Fine nickel fibers are randomly laid and sintered into felt, which is then co-sintered with expanded nickel mesh into a single body. The mesh adds mechanical strength and a low-resistance electron path; the felt adds 3D high porosity for gas and liquid transport. The two layers are metallurgically bonded - no delamination, no fibre shedding.

02 Performance & Mechanism

The composite uses the best of both layers: expanded mesh raises tensile strength and flatness for large-area assembly and clamping, and shortens the electron conduction path; the felt layer, sintered from >=99.5 percent high-purity nickel fiber, offers adjustable porosity of 50-80 percent with interconnected, evenly permeable pores for long service in alkaline electrolysis.

03 Advantages

  • Felt and mesh co-sintered - no delamination, no shedding; 2. Strong enough for large, thin sheets that are easy to assemble; 3. Short conductive path, low contact resistance; 4. High porosity for smooth gas-liquid transport; 5. Thickness, mesh opening and basis weight customizable.

04 Applications

AEM/alkaline electrolyzer electrodes and gas diffusion layers, fuel cell electrode skeletons, alkaline liquid filtration, EMI shielding and catalyst carriers. Sheets, discs and custom shapes available.
