Truck exhaust gas purifier

Purification rate 90%
Filter life Washable metal cores
Regeneration 1-minute water wash
Customisation Built to engine model

Product Introduction

At a roadside check a diesel truck is stopped and tested for free-acceleration smoke first. This unit takes the muffler position, with a metal element in place of the wall-flow core, capturing over 90% of particulate and washed rather than replaced. The ECU and aftertreatment control logic stay untouched.

Detailed Overview

01 Product Introduction

The Truck exhaust gas purifier is built around a TPS water-washable regenerative metal filter element (metal DPF, patent No. ZL 2018 1 0598975.7), made from high-temperature-resistant, corrosion-resistant metal media through more than 30 processes. Particulate capture exceeds 90%; when the element loads up it is pulled out and rinsed in about a minute rather than replaced, and no secondary pollutants are produced. The retrofit leaves the original ECU untouched.

The housing is sized to engine displacement, exhaust pipe diameter and chassis space, with a clamp-on joint that replaces the original muffler or sits inline. Retrofit time is short enough that the truck is back in service the same day.

Duty profile: long motorway running keeps exhaust temperature high, while urban delivery and loading waits mean low temperature and frequent stops. Smoke opacity moves with load and fuel quality, so the unit is sized on the typical duty rather than the peak, with back-pressure margin kept in hand.

02 Working Principle

Exhaust gas emitted by diesel engines enters the air inlet of the AIFILTECH exhaust filtration system. The gas, laden with carbon particles, passes from the outside to the inside through the TPS filter element, where the particles are captured by the element wall and the clean gas is discharged into the atmosphere from the air outlet.

Hot exhaust enters the housing and passes through the outer surface of the core into the element body; black smoke and carbon particles are blocked on the outer surface, and the cleaned gas is collected through the core outlet and discharged from the exhaust port.

As the engine runs continuously, carbon particles accumulate on the outer surface of the core and system back pressure gradually rises. Once back pressure reaches the set value, the machine can be stopped, the clamp removed, the core pulled out and rinsed clean under a tap, then reinstalled into the housing and the clamp retightened for further use — a cycle that repeats. Initial back pressure is as low as 1 kPa, so normal engine operation is barely affected. The specially designed particulate trap offers high soot-holding capacity and long service intervals with low maintenance. When back pressure reaches the preset value (generally 25 kPa), an alarm can be set to remind the operator to regenerate the core.

03 Product Advantages

  • Particulate filtration efficiency over 90%, with a measured light absorption coefficient below 0.5 m⁻¹ and Ringelmann below 1; 2. Easy regeneration: 1-minute water-washing regeneration, reusable without damage; 3. Quick to fit: clamp-on design, removed and refitted in about 30 seconds; 4. No secondary pollutants; 5. Low total cost of ownership: the retrofit is straightforward and maintenance is simple; 6. The clamp-on design lets a truck be retrofitted without taking it off the road, and the low initial back pressure leaves power and fuel consumption unaffected.

04 Certifications & Application Cases

The unit was tested by an independent laboratory holding CMA and CNAS accreditation; the measured light absorption coefficient was below 0.5 m⁻¹.

Since the AIFILTECH water-washable regenerative metal purifier was developed, the core product has passed nearly 5,000 installations in the after-treatment market and has become a main equipment supplier for diesel retrofit programmes in China. The company joined the retrofit programme in Nanjing back in 2018 and has since completed nearly 1,000 installations there, with users now spread across the country. These units run daily at Beijing Capital, Guangzhou Baiyun, Xiamen, Nanchang and Nanning airports, and at port terminals, in corporate vehicle fleets and on construction sites.

Typical applications: diesel trucks, tractor units and tippers. The model is already in volume service in these applications, with selection calculation, installation guidance and commissioning support provided.

Sizing & selection Q&A

How do I know which model fits?

Models are sized by exhaust flow, not by vehicle length or badge power. Send the engine model, rated power or the plate photo and we confirm the exact unit.

How far does particulate drop after fitting?

The core traps particulate and the rating is stated per model under standard test conditions; field results follow exhaust flow and smoke load.

Does the core get replaced when it loads up?

No. The metal core is water-washed in about a minute and reused — unlike paper or ceramic substrates it is not a consumable.

Do I have to cut the exhaust line?

The unit replaces the silencer position with a matched sleeve or flange and clamps on in about 30 seconds. Chassis fittings stay untouched.

Will it pass the local inspection?

Limits and methods differ by market — opacity, loaded-mode and free-acceleration tests do not read the same number. Confirm the local method first, then size to it.
