Guizhou Cement, Coke Ultra-Low Emission Retrofit Progress

Guizhou's ecology and environment department reported on October 21 that PM2.5 across its nine major cities averaged 19.9 micrograms per cubic meter over the first nine months of 2026, with 97.6 percent of days rated good or better. The province has completed 141 cement-sector and 9 coking-sector ultra-low emission retrofit tasks and will issue its 2026-2030 air quality action plan.

Per CCTV’s local channel on October 22, the Guizhou Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment held a press briefing in Guiyang on October 21 on its blue-sky defense campaign: as of September 30, PM2.5 across the province’s nine major cities averaged 19.9 micrograms per cubic meter, down 0.6 from a year earlier, with 97.6 percent of days meeting good-or-better air quality standards, up 0.8 percentage points.

Cement and coke retrofits pass the hundred mark

On the industrial side, Guizhou has completed 141 cement-sector and 9 coking-sector ultra-low emission retrofit tasks, alongside integrated boiler and furnace upgrading: ultra-low retrofits continue for coal boilers above 65 t/h, and 87 biomass boilers of 2 t/h or smaller have been phased out. On the mobile side, 12,928 heavy-duty diesel trucks and 788 vehicle emission inspection stations have been checked so far this year. Institutionally, the draft 2026-2030 Guizhou air quality action plan is complete and will be issued soon, introducing a tiered “9+N” city management model; the province will also study ultra-low emission supervision pathways for steel and thermal power, with ammonia slip, false compliance, and excess emissions flagged for strict enforcement.

What this means for AIFILTECH customers

First, ultra-low emission retrofits are pushing inland and southwest, and with 141 cement tasks done, existing lines are entering a concentrated cycle of equipment replacement and upgrades — smaller clinker lines and grinding stations that have not yet retrofitted are where the next wave of demand sits. Second, inspections targeting ineffective or underperforming control equipment mean plants with existing dust removal and denitration systems may face re-testing; long-term operating pressure drop and emission stability of the filter media matter more than as-installed figures, so ask suppliers for service-life data under real operating conditions. Third, with ammonia slip under scrutiny, SCR/SNCR ammonia dosing and catalyst condition need to be part of daily plant management to avoid being recorded as false compliance.

AIFILTECH’s MULCERAFIL ceramic fiber filter tube high-temperature gas filters and ceramic filter tube dust collectors are designed for cement kilns, coke ovens, and industrial boilers, supporting pulse-jet cleaning and online high-temperature operation for retrofit and upgrade projects.
