In a high-viscosity melt, a candle cartridge wastes space; a disc does not. AIFILTECH melt filter discs come in 4.3" to 12" sizes, each disc adding a full ring of filter area, with stainless steel fiber felt or sintered mesh media and soft- or hard-seal centres — washable and reusable, standard on Li-ion separator, carbon fiber and BOPET/BOPP lines.
Melt filter discs, also called disc filter elements, serve high-viscosity polymer melt filtration. The disc form multiplies effective filter area per unit of space, so the filtration unit can be compact. Media are stainless steel fiber felt or sintered mesh; the discs take pressure evenly, filter steadily, and can be washed and reused for long service.
Two constructions: soft seal with a wrapped centre ring for fast changeover, and hard seal with a welded centre ring for long campaigns; support brackets can be welded on request. Media choice follows the duty — felt holds more dirt with longer cycles and better permeability, while sintered mesh is stronger and impact-resistant with lower dirt capacity.
